Apoyo Program Fundraising Fashion Show.. Feel Like a Woman


On January 25th 
El Programa de Apoyo Escolar de Chuburna Puerto 
held our 4th annual fundraising
 FASHION SHOW - My Sister's Closet... Feel Like A Woman


On behalf of the Program, Fashionista Mary Walberg, and 54 volunteers, raised   45,000 pesos  for Chuburna Puerto students 

 11 volunteers ironed most of 1000 pieces of gently used donated clothing

Amazing Food and Service while we auctioned donated sunset cruises, sailboat rides, a local restaurant coupon book, 2 nights in Merida and a design consultation:


                

The Boutique is Open.... Come Shop.   We sold over 470 pieces of clothing, giving the remaining clothes to a women's group in Chuburna to raise money for a new free medical clinic.

We are once again asking our supporters and sponsors to give us your gently used (clean and stain-free),  high quality clothing... Designer Labels are especially desired as we use the clothes to dress our models and provide an exciting Boutique from which our guests shop... GETTING 100 STUDENTS READY FOR SCHOOL IS NO SMALL FEAT!!! Beverly and Jo-Anne begin to buy supplies in April and May for 71 backpacks and shoulder bags. Our Money Manager Extraordinaire, Beverly,  organizes envelopes: of information for all the students explaining what is happening on BackPack Day and including the cards they need to order their uniforms and shoes from local stores and the middle school. with money to reimburse our 21 COBAY high school students for their registration fees and their books. with money to reimburse our 11 CETMAR high school students for their registration fees with money to be given to students who attend specialized high schools in Merida.    NOTE: all students provide receipts for their expenses in order to continue receiving money for subsequent semesters.
