Back to School: 2015-16
Hello everyone. It seems like school just ended; yet, here we are filling and handing out backpacks in anticipation of students returning for the 2015-16 school year.

We have 92 students and filled 69 backpacks for our primary and middle school students as well as for our high school students attending CETMAR. High school students attending COBAY choose textbooks over school supplies; and students attending high schools in Merida receive direct funding with which to pay for expenses in return for receipts.
Our wonderful volunteers, Sherry, Lynda,Ruth, Carla and board members laid out boxes and boxes of supplies, sorted 184 prs.of socks and
filled backpacks.
- Scientific Calculators.. approx 56 functions for Middle School & 240 functions or more for high school.
- Red pens
- Pencil Sharpeners that are enclosed to catch the shavings
- White erasers
- Pkg. of 12 thin felt waterproof markers
- 8 gigabyte USB's
- Large felt permanent markers ( colors black, red and blue)
- Highlighters ( yellow and green)
- Dry Erase Markers
- Backpacks are always welcome for new students who join the program during the year.

Director Ben took photos of the students. Each student will receive a printed copy in a frame. Each sponsor will receive the same photo and translated letter from their student. |
Directors Donna and Jo-Anne answered questions and checked with parents and students about missing grades. |

Director Beverly is away on a well deserved vacation and Director Dorothy was behind the camera taking these photos and assisting Ben with the student photos.
