33 students attended our Free English Camp held July 17 to August 4th.. Ligia, our office administrator planned the activities which were facilitated by volunteers, Carrie, Mindy, Myrla, Paula, Sherri, Sonya, Tammy, and Trevor.  Welcome also to Sue and Bob who helped out with the last day festivities. 

Abraham ELI, Adan GAEL, Berenice, Angel Gabriel, Damaris, Darianna, Dianey, Eleazar, Fernanda, Giovanni, Hilary, Hilda, Isaac HABACUC, Itali, Jesus Marcelino, Jonathon, Josue, Laura N, Laura P, Marintya, Meyli, Nahomy, Silvana, Yamili and Yanjari attended.  ... The balance of the students attending were from the village and are not yet in our program.     We will send photos of the students who came on the last day for their certificates to their sponsors.

GETTING 100 STUDENTS READY FOR SCHOOL IS NO SMALL FEAT!!! Beverly and Jo-Anne begin to buy supplies in April and May for 71 backpacks and shoulder bags. Our Money Manager Extraordinaire, Beverly,  organizes envelopes: of information for all the students explaining what is happening on BackPack Day and including the cards they need to order their uniforms and shoes from local stores and the middle school. with money to reimburse our 21 COBAY high school students for their registration fees and their books. with money to reimburse our 11 CETMAR high school students for their registration fees with money to be given to students who attend specialized high schools in Merida.    NOTE: all students provide receipts for their expenses in order to continue receiving money for subsequent semesters.
