Back to School: 2015-16
Hello everyone. It seems like school just ended; yet, here we are filling and handing out backpacks in anticipation of students returning for the 2015-16 school year. After several weeks and many trips purchasing all that is needed WE ARE READY: We have 92 students and filled 69 backpacks for our primary and middle school students as well as for our high school students attending CETMAR. High school students attending COBAY choose textbooks over school supplies; and students attending high schools in Merida receive direct funding with which to pay for expenses in return for receipts. Our wonderful volunteers, Sherry, Lynda,Ruth, Carla and board members laid out boxes and boxes of supplies, sorted 184 prs.of socks and filled backpacks. Julie Tinkey's Yucatan Food to Go kept us nourished and content..mmmm good DONATIONS OF SCHOOL SUPPLIES ARE ALWAYS APPRECIATED .......W hen asked what we need most, here is our answer.
