SAX on the BEACH Fundraiser


" A picture says a thousand words" Thanks to photographer Carla Gilmore we are able to tell the story of our most recent fundraiser.... 

Thanks to hosts Sherri and Dave Jones for  agreeing to host the party at their beach side garden.

                              Pepe wandered thru the garden serenading party-goers.   
Everyone had a drink in their hand at all times thanks to Bartenders Mike and Diane 
Dorothy and Marta served up hotdogs, Bev and Roy's delicious hamburgers, Ann's marvelous chili, & Sherri's famous pasta salad.  Later in the evening, Penny and Sue served up their amazing cakes. 
Pepe came to us via our relationship with his wife Lisa, President of the International Women's Club in Merida. 



Debbie takes a break from selling raffle tickets 
Jim and Mike kept the fire on the beach burning in spite of a gusty breeze.

Over 70 generous folks attended, helped out, bought raffle tickets and, together, raised 9900 pesos for the Chuburna Puerto Apoyo Escolar Program GUST Fund... the fund we draw from to help students deal with situations which are deterrents to their studies.

We have 3 fundraisers per year.... October, November and our largest on January 25, 2014... 
                                  "My Sister's Closet" Fashion Show & Boutique.

Great entertainment plus an opportunity to win fabulous raffle prizes; bid on amazing auction items; and “shop to own” many great, priced to sell, gently used clothes in the Boutique..!

Para los estudiantes que NO ESTÁN EN NUESTRO PROGRAMA, es necesario que los padres paguen las tarifas de inscripción de 580-700 pesos en el banco, lo que a menudo significa hacer largas filas ... y luego ir a las escuelas preparatorias para hacer más filas para mostrar el recibo. Luego vuelve a pasar lo mismo con sus libros que cuestan entre 650 y 700 pesos. Una larga fila en el banco y luego en la escuela para recoger los libros. DEBIDO A SU PATROCINIO junto con MARIO SUBDIRECTOR EN COBAY, Y MERCY, LA REGISTRADORA EN CETMAR, Roxane y Ligia hicieron el viaje a COBAY y Dorothy a de CETMAR, las preparatorias, para pagar directamente por nuestros estudiantes ... Un viaje al banco era necesario para pagar los libros, pero luego Dorothy fue a COBAY a recoger los libros para distribuirlos en Chuburná Puerto. Los padres no tienen que faltar al trabajo o gastar dinero en viajes de ida y vuelta varias veces a Progreso; tampoco tienen que pagar la inscripción de 580-700 pesos, ni los 650-700 pe

LA RECAUDACIÓN DE FONDOS ES IGUAL A APOYO EDUCATIVO

Hay dos aspectos de nuestro programa: 1) Patrocinio individual de estudiantes: 2) Apoyo educativo para TODOS LOS ALUMNOS de Chuburná pagado por la recaudación de fondos:: 10 años de la Recaudación de Fondos Anual Desfile de modas, Boutique y Subasta Silenciosa My Sister´s Closet. Cenas anuales organizadas en las casas de varios voluntarios. 2020: COVID 19:   realizamos una recaudación de fondos virtual en lugar de nuestro desfile de moda anual. La recaudación de fondos de Los Locos 20's fue un éxito ... Recaudamos 100,750 pesos para asegurar la continuidad de nuestros programas                      Debido al éxito de la generosidad de tantos, hemos brindado los siguientes apoyos educativos a todos los estudiantes de Chuburná Puerto desde 2013:                           2013: Del Centro de Computación de la Escuela Secundaria  Junto con la Escuela Mundial de Boston y la Administración Escolar, un espacio vacío entre dos edificios se convirtió en un centro de computación 2013:

FUNDRAISING EQUALS EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT

There are two aspects to our program: 1) Individual Student Sponsorship: 2) Educational Support for ALL STUDENTS of Chuburná paid for by fundraising: Ten years of the Annual Fundraiser, My Sister´s Closet Fashion Show, Boutique and Silent Auction. Annual dinners hosted at the homes of various supporters..(Sax on the Beach) ( Swine & Dine) ( Life´s A Beach) 2020: COVID 19: virtual fundraiser instead of our Annual Fashion Show. The Roaring 20´s fundraiser was a success...We made 100,750 pesos to ensure the continuance of our programs.                                        Because of the success of the generosity of so many,  we have provided the following educational supports to all the students of Chuburná Puerto
